2023 Honda Odyssey Touring Review
The 2023 Honda Odyssey is ranked as the number-one minivan in the world by organizations such as Car and Driver, US News, and others. It carries on the legacy of the very first Odyssey which was introduced almost 30 years ago, becoming acclaimed for its functionality.
The Touring model is one of the most popular trim levels currently offered on the 2023 Odyssey. It is just a step below the top-of-the-line variant and so you can expect it to have all the bells and whistles that a modern minivan can have.
The following is a review of the 2023 Honda Odyssey Touring:
Features
The all-new Honda Odyssey Touring represents the 5th generation of Honda’s acclaimed minivan that was refreshed back in 2021. It offers a single engine option that it shares with the 2023 Honda Ridgeline. This year’s Odyssey Touring doesn’t see any updates.
Powertrain and Numbers
The Honda Odyssey Touring 2023 comes with a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 280 hp and 262 lb-ft. It sends all this power to a front-wheel drive system for maximum efficiency. It does this via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Odyssey Touring is lightning fast, taking just about 6.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph. It is also great at towing and hauling. It has a maximum towing capacity of 3500 lbs meaning that it’s great for trailering on the weekends.
Then we have the fuel economy, which is also commendable since this is a high-performing minivan. The EPA says that the 2023 Odyssey Touring can do up to 19 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway.

As you’d expect from an upscale family minivan from Honda, the Odyssey Touring has an attractive interior design that also focuses on the comfort of its occupants. It has a spacious cabin that has been built with high-quality materials.
The Odyssey Touring 2023 can seat up to 8 occupants in absolute comfort. It has been lauded for the versatility of its seating – partly due to Honda’s Magic Slide system that allows the second row to be moved around or removed for various configurations.
Meanwhile, the third row can also be adjusted and can be completely folded to increase the trunk space. This is quite a bonus since the trunk is already very large and is one of the best in the class. The in-cabin storage is amazing with countless cubbies on the inside.
The Odyssey Touring is loaded with all sorts of quirks and features. You get a leather-trimmed steering wheel and seats. You get tri-zone climate control, push-button ignition, keyless entry, ambient console lighting and LEDs, power-sliding doors, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The following are the color options for the interior trim:
- Beige
- Black
- Gray
- Mocha
More features include a powered moonroof and tailgate. Then we have the infotainment system which is based on an 8-inch display that connects to a set of 7 speakers. Integrations with Android and Apple devices are included, along with HD Radio and multiple power outlets.
There’s a separate, 10.2-inch entertainment screen for the rear passengers. You also get Wifi hotspot capabilities along with a voice-recognizing satellite navigation system. The Touring 2023 also has systems that allow you to monitor the rear passengers and communicate with them.
The seats are quite high-tech as the driver and front passenger get 12- and 8-way power adjustability respectively – the former also gets 2-position memory. Both their seats are heated and come with 4-way power lumbar support.
For safety, you get automated emergency braking (w/pedestrian detection), traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning, parking sensors, lane-departure warning (w/lane-keeping assist), adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring.
Exterior and Driving
This generation of the Honda Odyssey has a timeless design that gives off a luxurious look. You get LED headlights and fog lights, plus taillights with integrated LED bars. You get heated body-colored door mirrors with integrated turn signals, that tilt down on reversing.
Like the side mirrors, the door handles and sills are also body-colored. The Odyssey Touring also gets stylish machined-finished 19-inch alloy wheels with shark-gray inserts. You get a roofline spoiler as well.
The exterior colors of the 2023 Odyssey Touring are:
- Crystal Black Pearl
- Lunar Silver Metallic
- Modern Steel Metallic
- Obsidian Blue Pearl
- Pacific Pewter Metallic
- Platinum White Pearl
- Radiant Red Metallic
- Sonic Gray Pearl
The Honda Odyssey Touring is a minivan that’s fun to drive thanks to its quick acceleration and stellar handling capabilities. Its steering is quite precise and it has been lauded for feeling light and nimble. It truly feels brilliant when you put your foot down.
But then there’s also the traditional minivan side of it – the high levels of comfort that you expect from any vehicle in this category. The Odyssey Touring 2023 provides a plush environment for all of its occupants, shielding them from the noise and the bumpiness of the road.

Reliability and Warranty
The all-new Odyssey 2023 gets JD Power’s seal of approval in terms of reliability. The organization has given it a reliability rating of 81 out of 100, which also applies to the Touring model. The Odyssey is also ranked first on its list of minivans for the year.
Then we have the aftersales, which include a limited warranty of 3 years/36k miles, and a powertrain warranty of 5 years/60k miles. Also included is complimentary maintenance for 2 years/24k miles – Honda is one of the few brands to offer this.
Verdict
We can safely say that the 2023 Honda Odyssey Touring is a masterpiece and should be a favorite if you’re looking for a minivan. It is extraordinary in terms of its performance – it is quick, can tow a lot, and is fuel efficient.
It is also loaded with all the features that one can possibly imagine. You get many comfort and safety amenities that go well with the serene environment of the cabin. It is also a dependable vehicle with the 2-year/25k-mile complimentary maintenance offered as a bonus.
