2023 Honda Civic Si Review
The Honda Civic has always been considered a driver’s car and this is why Honda has made versions that specifically cater to automotive purists. The Si is considered to be a practical, affordable and fun solution for those that are looking for a sports sedan.
The following is a review of its latest version, the 2023 Honda Civic Si:
Features
The 11th generation Civic has been well-received by the automotive community. Its Si version is supposed to be a stripped down version that’s more powerful than the standard car, and features sporty handling. There are no trim levels offered so each Civic Si is top-of-the line.
You’ll find that this car comes customized with accents and badges to differentiate it from the standard Civic. It loses some equipment but retains all the safety tech and several convenience features to provide the driver with the best experience. The infotainment is also top class.
Powertrain and Numbers
The engine motivating the 2023 Civic Si is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo that produces 200 hp and 192 lb-ft. This is sent to a front-wheel drive system via a 6-speed manual gearbox – targeted towards Civic enthusiasts. Three driving modes are offered – Normal, Sport, and Individual.
Because the Civic Si 2023 is lighter and more powerful than the standard car, it can accelerate from a standstill to 62 mph in just about 6.5 seconds. If you opt for the 2023 Civic Type R, it can do the same thing in a whopping 4.9 seconds.
This is a car that allows you to have fun without worrying about the fuel costs. According to the EPA, it can do 27 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway if you drive it right. If you want something more efficient, the standard 2023 Civic does up to 33 mpg city and 42 mpg highway.

Interior and Technology
On the inside, the new Civic has gotten a lot of praise for how great it looks, how well everything is put together, and how comfortable it is. The Civic Si 2023 takes it to a whole new place with its aggressive stylings that add sporty touches to the cabin.
On top of the athleticism of the vehicle, you also get quite a bit of practicality with the largest trunk in the class. It ensures that this car can be used as a daily driver, allowing you to easily shop for groceries or anything else.
You get an attractive red and black cloth upholstery, red contrast stitching, and several Si logos in the cabin. There are sport pedals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an aluminum shift knob also wrapped in leather.
Despite this being a sports sedan, it still features all the basic tech that one could ask for. You get powered windows and door locking, keyless entry, and a 12V power outlet. There’s also an automatic climate control system, push-button ignition, and an adjustable driver’s seat.
You get a high-end infotainment system that compliments this car well. There is a 9-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch instrumentation screen, and a premium 12-speaker sound system from Bose. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM, and HD Radio are also standard.
The safety features include automated emergency braking, standard lane-departure warning (w/lane-keeping assist), forward collision warning (w/rear cross-traffic alert), traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, and more.
Exterior and Driving
The Civic 2023 is a beautiful vehicle and its Si version gives it a more aggressive and sporty look. The wheels have something to do with this as you get to choose from two designs and finishes (gloss black and matte black).
Both wheel types are sized at 18 inches. You get other niceties such as automatic LED headlamps, a gloss-black decklid spoiler, a powered moonroof, dual exhausts, and heated gloss-black side mirrors.
The following exterior colors are available on the 2023 Civic Si:
- Aegean Blue Metallic
- Blazing Orange Pearl
- Crystal Black Pearl
- Platinum White Pearl
- Rallye Red
- Sonic Gray Pearl
The drivability is the highlight of any Civic Si model, and it doesn’t disappoint. The engine provides you power at a quick rate without any turbo lag, and the stick-shift transmission is as smooth as it gets.
Then you have the handling which is also off the charts. This car comes with a limited slip differential and sporty suspension which massively improves the handling, which is already great in the standard car. The brakes are also upgraded quite a bit.
But despite all of the above, the occupants of the car won’t have to worry about traveling over any bumps since the ride quality is surprisingly decent for a sports sedan such as this. The cabin is quiet and free from any vibration.

Reliability and Warranty
The Civic Si 2023 model hasn’t been rated by JD Power for reliability but the standard model gets a score of 80 out of 100. Consumer Reports expects it to be more reliable than its peers. Many consumers and testers have praised it for being dependable.
Honda also offers you a limited warranty of 3 years/36k miles and a powertrain warranty of 5 years/60k miles. Honda is also one of the select few carmakers that is offering complimentary maintenance for 2 years/25k miles.
Verdict
It can be concluded that the 2023 Honda Civic Si is a car for petrolheads, by petrolheads. It drives like a dream thanks to a powerful engine and excellent suspension. At the same time, it is also an efficient car based on its EPA ratings.
On the inside, you get a solid interior design that’s attractive but also functional. The storage capabilities are the best in class. There is a lot of safety and convenience technology offered despite the attempts to make this car lighter. It’s expected to be reliable as well.
