2023 Honda Accord

Almost 30 years ago, the Accord was launched by Honda and it became their flagship mid-size sedan. Over this time, the Accord has become one of the biggest success stories in the automotive industry. The car has been acclaimed for providing luxury, practicality, and reliability – all with a decent price tag. The 2023 Accord looks to achieve all these quirks and more.

Hence, the following is a review of all its highlights:

Features

The Honda Accord 2023 is the first model from the all-new 11th generation that’s recently been launched. Despite the previous Accord being a flawless vehicle, Honda has changed pretty much everything and upgraded it. The highlight is the stunning new exterior of course.   The new model offers 6 trim levels, 2 of which are offered solely on the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid. This leaves the gasoline Accord with 2 variants and 1 engine. New colors have been added; all the models have been bestowed with a host of standard driver’s assistance features.   We’re still getting more information about the car though.

Powertrain and Numbers

The all-new Accord 2023 is powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo, which makes 192 hp and 247 lb-ft. It uses a CVT gearbox to send all this power to the front wheels. The powertrain has been updated and refined for a better driving experience according to Honda. The setup is also able to give the Accord a 0 to 60 mph time of just around 6.5 seconds.   But while this car is quick, we also expect it to be fuel-efficient. While the official numbers aren’t out yet, the 2022 Honda Accord with a similar engine did 30 mpg city and 38 highway. This year’s model should deliver the same ratings or even better ones.   The EPA says that the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid will do 51 mpg city and 48 mpg highway.

Interior and Technology

The 2023 Honda Accord’s interior gets the company’s acclaimed honeycomb mesh design on its dashboard which also contains air vents. The cabin features a piano-black trim and they’ve made it comfier and less strenuous for the occupants.   The design has been described as “family-friendly” by the car’s testers.   The Accord also continues to be one of the most spacious options in the mid-size sedan class when it comes to cargo. It has a large trunk and many cubbies in the interior. Also, the rear seats can be folded down to increase storage space.   The following are the trim levels of the 2023 Accord:

  • 2023 Honda Accord LX
  • 2023 Honda Accord EX

Like all of its siblings, the Accord will be quite well-equipped with all the latest technology. One of the highlights is the standard state-of-the-art 10.2-inch digital instrument panel. Also included is a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Two USB-C ports will also be standard to enhance connectivity.   Also, all the trims will be getting Over-The-Air software updates for all of their computerized modules. This means that the car will become more capable over time without any hassles.   Furthermore, the standard safety amenities are also more than enough. You get automated emergency braking (w/pedestrian detection), traffic sign recognition, lane-departure warning (w/lane-keeping assist), blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. Knee and rear-passenger side impact airbags have been added as well.   Honda also offers their new traffic jam assist system for when you’re stuck in heavy congestion.

Exterior and Driving

The 2023 Honda Accord redesign is absolutely breathtaking. Honda has given the sedan a sleeker look by making it longer and utilizing a fastback design. You also get a more stylish set of LED lights. The tail lights are one of the biggest changes as they span the car’s width.   The gasoline models can be differentiated from the hybrids via their black front grille, body-colored side mirrors, and stylish 17-inch alloys. The colors of the wheels on the LX and the EX are Blade Silver and Pewter Gray respectively.   We’re not sure of all the 2023 Accord’s colors yet, but the following ones have been revealed:

  • Canyon River Blue
  • Urban Gray Pearl
  • Meteorite Gray

According to Honda, 5 more colors will make it to the catalog.   As far as driving is concerned, the new Accord 2023 should be a blast to drive. It will come with upgraded suspension and steering. Hence both the quality of the ride and the drive will see improvements.

Reliability and Warranty

We’re still waiting for JD Power to give predicted reliability ratings for the 2023 Accord. It should be known that last year’s model did quite well, scoring 81 out of 100, putting itself in the ‘Great’ category. Because the car isn’t up for sale yet, we haven’t heard from its current owners either.   The 2023 Honda Accord should come with the industry-standard limited warranty of 3 years/36k miles. It should also receive a powertrain warranty of 5 years/60k miles. If you opt for the Accord hybrid, you get an extra hybrid components warranty as well.  Also, Honda is now one of the few manufacturers offering 2 years/24k miles of complimentary maintenance.

Verdict

The 2023 Honda Accord is predicted to be a consumer favorite, which is why it once again tops Car and Driver’s list of midsize sedans for the year. Of course, it looks gorgeous on the inside and outside, but there’s a lot more to it. You’ll get an efficient engine that can accelerate well. The handling is going to be better than ever and so is the ride quality.   The 2023 Honda Accord redesign also gets a spacious cabin with comfier seats than before. It is also loaded with more than enough amenities for every single trim level. The reliability is going to be high as expected from the Accord.   Combine all of this with Honda’s 2-year complimentary maintenance plan, and the Accord’s 2023 redesign may just be the bargain of the century.   To get the 2023 Honda Accord in North Salt Lake, UT, check out Performance Honda Bountiful here.   For the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid in North Salt Lake, UT, click here.
