The Honda Accord is one of the best-selling cars in American history. It is a name synonymous with high quality, intelligent design and driving dynamics, fuel efficiency, and many more positives. This year saw the debut of the all-new Accord 2023 to a lot of praise.

The Accord comes with a variety of trim levels and one of its most talked-about variants is the Accord EX. It is the top trim on the nonhybrid model and is said to be a bang for its buck. It takes things up a notch from the base model in terms of features.

To see how good it is, the following is a review of the 2023 Honda Accord EX:

Features

We’ve witnessed the arrival of the 11th generation Honda Accord in 2023, complete with its new styling, powertrain, suspension, and more. Several automotive media outlets have ranked the new model at the top of their lists for the midsize sedan segment.

The Accord features 2 trim levels, with the other 4 being offered on the hybrid, sold separately. Hence, the EX trim level is the top-of-the-line model if you want a traditional gasoline engine. It offers the right mix of interior materials and technology, with lots of safety tech being standard.

Powertrain and Numbers

The new Accord EX 2023 features a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that makes 192 hp and lb-ft. It sends this to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox. As a result of this setup, the 2023 Accord can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just about 7 seconds – respectable for the class.

The fuel economy figures are great, as you’d expect from Accord. The EPA says that it will do up to 29 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. However, testers such as Car and Driver have managed to obtain even better numbers in their real-time tests.

But if these numbers aren’t doing it for you, you can always go for the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid. This one is even more efficient as it can achieve 51 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the highway and do it quicker.

Interior and Technology

The all-new Accord’s interior has received massive acclaim from all who have reviewed it. It is a timeless design that’s found on the new generation Hondas, containing the hexagonal dash that everyone’s in love with. The cabin is very spacious and can seat up to 5 occupants with ease.

The build quality is solid, and everything is well put together, even though the EX isn’t that high on the overall trim hierarchy. You’ll be glad to know that the trunk is the largest in the class and that the cubby storage is impressive as well.

The Accord EX comes with an aesthetic black or gray interior. Its technology includes dual-zone climate control, push-button ignition, keyless entry, and a powered moonroof. The front seats are heated, while the driver gets 10-way power adjustability and 2-way power lumbar support.

The infotainment system comprises a 7-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch instrumentation screen, 8 speakers, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and WIFI hotspot capabilities. Multiple USB ports are included as well.

The safety department is stacked thanks to the Honda Sensing package. You get automated emergency braking (w/pedestrian detection), traffic sign recognition, lane-departure warning (w/lane-keeping assist), automatic high beam, a backup camera, and adaptive cruise control.

If you want to upgrade its looks even further, you can always opt for the HPD Styling Package. Doing this will get you sportier 19-inch HPD black alloys, a decklid spoiler, underbody spoilers on the front, rear, and sides, and HPD badging.

The exterior colors available on the 2023 Accord EX are the following:

  • Crystal Black Pearl
  • Meteorite Gray Metallic
  • Canyon River Blue Metallic
  • Radiant Red Metallic
  • Lunar Silver Metallic

The 2023 Accord EX is a great car to drive thanks to its engine which provides an instant response with no turbo lag and upshifts that are quick but also smooth. The Accord’s new suspension system is wonderful, and it allows you to have a fun drive on the bends.

The interior’s comfort levels are also top-notch as is the case with every Honda Accord of the time. Testers say that the cabin is very quiet, and the ride is very smooth. Even if you drive more aggressively on twisty roads, the front seats do a great job of holding you.
