2015 CR-V Named Motor Trend's 2015 SUV of the Year
Honda’s popular CR-V has been named Motor Trend’s 2015 SUV
of the Year thanks in part to a number of changes and upgrades for the most
recent model. This year’s SUV overcomes common complaints about an older
five-speed automatic transmission along with a marginal safety score in the
small overlap crash test. One of the most notable upgrades is a more powerful
engine. While it is the same as last year’s model, with a total output of 185,
power in the 2015 Honda CR-V occurs slightly earlier when shifting gears, making it a
bit peppier than earlier versions. Drivers who want even more of a boost can
slip the vehicle into Sport mode when desired.
The CR-V is a popular choice among families seeking a
smaller SUV that can comfortably hold five people and transport luggage and
other items when necessary. Along with an affordable price tag, this SUV
features an mpg rating of 27 city and 34 highway along with a wide range of
models. You can find two and four-wheel drive CRVs, from base models to higher
trim levels with more features. Depending on the trim level, some features
include push button start, steering wheel-mounted controls, a rearview camera,
and a multi-function center console with ample storage space for larger and
smaller items.
The CR-V also comes with an array of modern technology.
Highlights include a seven-inch display audio system along with a lane-assist
system that alerts the driver when the vehicle is moving out of its lane, along
with an intelligent multi-information display. There’s also a satellite-linked
navigation system with voice recognition. Honda HD digital traffic provides
real-time traffic alerts and updates.
