What is Honda Sensing®?

Honda Sensing® is Honda’s suite of driver-assistive and safety technologies that help you feel confident behind the wheel.

These features are designed to detect and help prevent potential collisions by using a combination of cameras, radar, and sensors to monitor the vehicle’s surroundings.

The suite includes a range of safety features that provide drivers with an extra layer of protection on the road. Adaptive Cruise Control is one of the most popular features, which maintains a safe distance from other vehicles while driving. It uses sensors to detect the distance between the vehicle and the one ahead and adjusts the speed accordingly, helping to prevent accidents caused by sudden stops or unexpected slow-downs.

Other safety features included in the Honda Sensing® suite are Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking. Forward Collision Warning uses radar and cameras to detect potential collisions with other vehicles or objects in front of the car. If a collision is imminent, the system will alert the driver with visual and audible warnings. If the driver does not take action, Automatic Emergency Braking will automatically engage the brakes to prevent or mitigate the impact of a collision.

Below you can find a break down of each of the aspects Honda Sensing® has to offer:

Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)

CMBS

Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)

Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) is designed to help reduce the severity of a potential frontal collision by automatically braking when it detects an unavoidable object in front of you.

Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

RDM

Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system, integrated with the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), can detect unavoidable objects in front of the vehicle and help reduce the severity of a potential frontal collision by automatically braking.

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

LKAS

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

The Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) in vehicles provides corrective steering to help drivers stay in their lane by detecting and gently guiding the vehicle back into the lane when it senses drifting.

Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)

TSR

Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)

The Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) feature in Honda Sensing® uses a camera to detect and display posted speed limit signs on the instrument panel, helping drivers stay aware of the current speed limit.

Learn about a few additional Honda Sensing® features designed to help you be a better driver.

Blind Spot Information System

BSIS

Blind Spot Information System

When your turn signal is on and a vehicle is detected in an adjacent lane, the indicator blinks and a beep sounds until the area is clear or the turn signal is off. *Available on select models.

Cross Traffic Monitor

CTM

Cross Traffic Monitor

When in reverse with the multi-angle rearview camera in any viewing mode, the driver is alerted to a detected vehicle approaching from the side with a series of beeps and indicators shown on the camera’s display. *Available on select models.

Auto High-Beam Headlights

AHB

Auto High-Beam Headlights

When you are driving at night above 25 mph (40 km/h) and the headlight lever is in the low-beam position with the switch rotated to AUTO, the system intuitively changes between low and high beams depending on surrounding conditions. *Available on select models.
